Love.

Love is patient, love is kind.It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.Love never fails.

I'm not saying love doesn't mean anything. It's a pretty wonderful and amazing experience.

We of course crave love. Who wouldn't?

People crave it so much that they'll risk their lives in abusive relationships. People crave it so much that they'll rush head long into fleeting emotions and cling for dear life.

Love seems to either be this amazing, outrageous, fantastical thing that conquers all and changes the world, or the simplest and most basic of all our feelings and emotions. Sometimes it's both.

All I really want to get across is that to define love empirically is impossible. It holds so many different meanings to every one of its patrons.
Some of that is true, yes. I find that many people see love as a bad thing, something that is painful. It's not the loving that hurts. It's what happens afterwards, or when there is a lack of it. All of those things are irrelevant - they have no love. Those things are the result of a lack of love. If one truely loved their husband or wife, their child, their siblings, their neighbors, they wouldn't rape, abuse, divorce, kill... you name it. Love must be more than chemical reactions because from the moment that children are born, what do they crave? Love, attention, care. These desires never leave us as we grow, so it must mean something.

These are nice words, but if you'll turn your attention to the amount of divorce, domestic violence, adultery, child abuse, and rape in the world...I'd recommend reconsidering your definition.

Love is grand and all, but it is confused with a number of other fleeting chemical reactions and is quite often mislabeled and misinformed.

Love isn't any one thing. Love is as many different things as there are people to experience it.
