Is it wrong

Is it wrong for me to dislike the majority of my race for the ways in which we portray ourselves in the media and in public.........yes I'm black and I wish I grew up in another area of metro atlanta because everthing around me seems so plastic and not genuine.....all of the people around including my siblings have been sucked into this web of gold digging women and men being a certain way........I can say that I was once that way until I looked at the road I was headed down and now I look back at all of the money I wasted and the stress that I caused myself at a young age and just wish that I grew up in a rural area where dusty boots and cut up t shirts were the only trend that never stops

It's not wrong to hate something. Hating something is just a way your brain tells you that it's not for you.

This is tough to answer. It's walks a thin line of racial stereotypes which I hate to bring into play.

What you should do is try to overcome the stereotypes. You obviously know you are better than them. Do everything in your power to be more than them.
