Crazy cat lady?

Why is always cat lady instead of dog lady? I'd think that if someone was lonely, dogs would be better because they're more loving and generally act happy to see you...cats mostly act affectionate when they want food or something.

I want a puppy.:(

Cats are trendy right now, personally, I think they suck.

"Aw, how cute, you're digging your fucking claws into my skin. Oh, please don't lick me, your tongue reminds me of death and feels like sandpaper. It's three in the morning, my face isn't a scratch post you stinky bastard."

Never had a cat, but have always had a dog. Plus, you never really see alot of stray dogs running around, but cats are just in every which direction, so I guess they're more attainable.

My cats always sit next to me and want to be loved on. They purr and rub on my leg. Cats actually do lik people, but some cats are just dicks. I agree that the crazy cat lady thing is a stereotype.

You don't hear the phrase "crazy dog lady" though, it'd be more just people with lots of dogs. I feel like crazy cat lady is more of a stereotype.

Isn't the purpose on some level affection, though? If cats are easier to take care of, but they're less affectionate, you'd end up doing the same amount of work for the same amount of avoiding lonliness...

Huh. Maybe that's why, cats are more mellow but you'd need more of them to regularly get one to sit by you on the couch or w.e.... come to think about it, even at non-crazy levels I tend to see many cats more often than many dogs...

I would love to get a husky, but I suppose the reality is I'll love the one that grabs me for whatever reason.

There are crazy dog ladies. I know old ladies with like 9 dogs and they treat them like children.

True, but I don't think it's about affection. Dogs are harder to take care of than cats, and cats are more mellow. But I see your point.

I have a puppy! It is a boxer dalmatian mix.
